VOLUNTEER

Interested in helping make Engulf go and earn a discounted ticket for next year? PARTICIPATE!

Engulf manifests by the power of YOU, the Engulf community! It’s an open canvas for our creativity and energy–powered by you, and you, and you! Engulf supplies a safe space, an effigy, toilets, and a few other amenities, but everything else you see at Engulf is made by the people of Engulf!

All attendees are participants and participants are both the entertainers and the entertained. Theme camps, art, performances–these all come from the hearts, minds, and generous spirits of your fellow Engulfers (and you!) …

There are no paid employees, no VIP, and no vending! Everyone who you see “working” at Engulf (or doing stuff pre- or post- event) is a volunteer: the person who scans your ticket, the one who shows you where to park, the medics there to supply first aid and basic life saving … the map makers, the art placers, the Rangers working to keep the event safe … the website designers, the people keeping the generators going, those who build our effigy … (you get the idea) … ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS!

While attending Engulf means you’re an Engulf participant and a co-creator of the event, there are so many more ways to participate and help make Engulf go! Follow the link below to browse the available positions and sign up for one that matches your skills and/or interests!

For a listing of all job descriptions and their accessibility options, scroll down or follow this link.

Unless you already have a ticket, do NOT sign up for a volunteer shift. This means that if you have a volunteer ticket code from LAST year, or you are receiving a code for a critical volunteer shift for THIS year, purchase your ticket first, then sign up for a volunteer shift.  Or, if you have already purchased a general admission ticket, go ahead and sign up for a volunteer shift.  If you do not meet these conditions, wait until you are able to acquire a ticket in the secondhand trade market before signing up. If you have already signed up for a volunteer shift, but do not yet have a ticket, please remove yourself from the sign up list until you acquire a ticket.

2026 Engulf Ticket Pricing

General Admission: $160

Critical Volunteers

Critical Volunteer tickets are available for $100 to anyone registering at least one volunteer shift as a Khaki Ranger, R-12 Ranger, Nightwatch, First Aid, Firefighter, or on-call Mental Health Professional.

Other than Nightwatch, all positions require real world experience or certifications and will be verified through our safety department.

If the volunteer positions with your skill set are already filled, please reach out to the safety department safety@engulfburn.org with your burn resume to see what we can arrange. We appreciate veteran volunteers and look forward to working with you!

Are these within your capabilities? Please consider volunteering this year (2026) for discounted tickets which are set aside for those who qualify UNTIL THE DAY OF EVENT.

These are critically important roles for the safety of Engulf. You are required to sign in and out of your shift or notify your team Lead if you can no longer attend the event. A no-call, no-show, will be ineligible for discounted volunteer tickets going forward.
